Read Ephesians 6:1-9
As Christians, we are called to love God and love others (Matthew 22:36-40). This means that because of our love for God, our relationships with others should look different than the rest of the world. This passage in Ephesians talks about relationships, and how we are to address them. While the context and cultures are different, the message remains the same. We are to “Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not people.” We love and serve others because of what Jesus has done for us. He denied His place on the throne, came to earth as a humble servant, and died a criminals death on the cross for YOU and for me. We have never been deserving of God’s love and service, yet He freely gave. We are called to do the same.
